The German investor Hansainvest Real Assets has just acquired the new facilities of Estrella de Levante in San Andrés business park in Alcantarilla from the American logistics-industrial developer, Panattoni, which promoted this turnkey project for Alfil Logistics, one of the companies of Damm Group to which Estrella de Levante belongs.
Once the works were completed, after an investment of € 35M, Panattoni kept this asset as its own property, while the Murcian brewery, Estrella de Levante, remained as a tenant on a lease basis. The constructed area, of approximately 46,000 square metres distributed in two warehouses, on a total area of up to 75,000 square metres. is fully leased on a long-term basis to the logistics service provider Alfil Logistics.
San Andrés business park is located just fifteen minutes from the centre of Murcia, at the junction of the A30 and A7 (Autovía del Mediterráneo) motorways. The built-up area of approximately 46,000 square metres spread over two tailor-made warehouses of 20,500 square metres and 22,500 square metres.
These two buildings centralise the entire logistics operations of the Alfil Logistics group in the Region of Murcia and enable the management of Estrella de Levante’s internal operations, as well as those of other clients in the food and beverage and fruit and vegetable sectors, and the group’s own supply chain operations.
Gustavo Cardozo, CEO of Panattoni Iberia, says, “We are at a turning point for the logistics real estate sector in Spain, driven by the firm consolidation of e-commerce and the steady increase in demand for modern logistics space in recent years; however, in the face of these remarkable developments, it is of utmost importance to keep a forward-looking perspective and be attentive to the transformations ahead, recognising and anticipating trends is fundamental to continue providing first class logistics infrastructure in a highly competitive market”.
