Grupo Upper will launch a new integral logistics platform in the Industrial Estate of Los Camachos that will use to store refrigerated and fresh products. The company will make an investment of close to 4 million euros to undertake the construction of this center, which will occupy a plot of 11,500 square meters and will have a building of 4,700 square meters.
The construction company Etosa is in charge of carrying out the works, which are expected to be completed before January 31, 2022.
The industrial building will be divided into units that will have different uses such as the storage of fish, reception and shipment of goods, engine room or offices. It will be equipped with photovoltaic energy, adapting the building to the trends of respect and care for the environment.
Decisive logistical breakthrough for the future
In this way, after the fire devastated the warehouse that Grupo Upper had in the Cabezo Beaza Industrial Park a year ago, the company began to look for alternatives to install a new logistics platform with the aim of refocusing all the refrigerated and fresh product that is currently diversified in different areas.
The general manager of Grupo Upper, Luis Navarro, explained to MurciaEconomía that “we are regrouping and providing a more modern logistics facility with greater storage capacity. It will mean that we will be able to work in a more operational way, with more space and with an advantage of logistical synergies”, speeding up the distribution process to the associated stores of all fresh and refrigerated product that is currently separated, some in Cabezo Beaza and another in the warehouses that they have rented in La Unión.
In short, Navarro has considered that this platform will mean for Grupo Upper “a decisive and strategic logistical advance for the future of the company”.
